Abstract: (from NCJRS) An evaluation assesses the impact of the Tactical Narcotics Teams (TNT) efforts by the New York City Police Department, as a supplement to normal police activity in target areas, on the enforcement of street-level drug crimes. Chapters cover: characteristics of the TNT research areas and drug markets; operations and perceived effectiveness of TNT activity; ethnographic analysis of TNT's effects on street-level drug markets; community perceptions of TNT in target areas; and policy recommendations.
