Welcome!

With 1:26 adults involved in the correctional system in the U.S., and more youth in the juvenile justice system (>650,000) than in foster care, policies that affect sentencing and the use of incarceration are under scrutiny. The Evidence-Based Corrections & Treatment research team is developing and assessing strategies to improve adoption and implementation of technology and interventions that will improve offender outcomes. Research areas include health service delivery, corrections, sentencing, and organizational factors. Special attention is given to issues that affect the culture of correctional agencies and programs that are designed to alter offender behavior. The team has designed a model for evidencebased supervision that focuses on the probation and parole officers being change agents.
